Rubie Louise Carpenter

Rubie Louise Carpenter, a resident of Fruitdale, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Springhill Medical Center.  She was 75 years old.  Rubie had a musical talent that she loved to share.  She enjoyed bluegrass music and was a great singer and upright bass player.  What she enjoyed most of all was being together with her family, cooking, and taking care of them.  In her spare time, she loved to go camping.  She also liked to play Monopoly and always enjoyed her favorite holiday, Halloween.

Rubie was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. “Bud” Carpenter; parents; and extended family members.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kimberly Lyon (Steve), Sandy Busby (Jason), Michael Carpenter (Beverly), Vanessa Simpson (Norman), and Stacey Allan (Jack); ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Cricket Pope and Penny Richardson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10am until 11am Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Church of the Brethren in Fruitdale.  A graveside service will follow in Grace Williams Cemetery.
