Russell Lamar "IP" Rainwaters

Russell Lamar "IP" Rainwaters, has sadly passed away at his home on February 25, 2024. He was known for his outgoing personality and never shied away from making new connections; those who knew him could always count on his frankness. IP was a lab technician who retired from BASF after 45 years.

Born on April 16, 1948, IP had a passion for racing and all things automotive. His love for travel led him to explore national parks, with Yellowstone holding a special place in his heart. Among his proudest accomplishments was nurturing strong work ethics in his children and grandchildren.

IP is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Karen Rainwaters, and his parents, Artis and Esther Rainwaters. 

He will be deeply missed by his children, Tassie Rainwaters and Jon Rainwaters (April); grandchildren, K'Leigh Rainwaters, Macie Ross, Kasey Rainwaters, Brayden Ross, Claudia Landrum, and Gunnar Newburn; great-grandchildren, Saylor and Beckett; brother, Eric Rainwaters (Lynn); nieces, Erika Rachelle Rainwaters and Sharla Rainwaters (Dave Elliot); as well as other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service to honor IP's life will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Fruitdale Methodist Church from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. His legacy of warmth and sincerity continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to known him.
