Ruth Evelyn Long

Miss Ruth Evelyn Long, age 69, a lifelong resident of Mobile County, departed this life on June 12, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. R. E. Long. Evelyn was a 1958 graduate of Murphy High School and wrote several books of poetry. She is survived by her brother, David Long, numerous cousins, many friends, and friends from City Church of Mobile, Celeste Road Church, AHEPA 310-VII apartments, and Warranty Corporation. Visitation will be at Celeste Road Church of Citronelle Tuesday, June 15, from 10am until the 11am Celebration of Life Service with Rev. Johnny Jernigan and Rev. Tom Dees officiating. Internment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery in Citronelle. In lieu of flowers, her family asked donations be made to the City Church of Mobile, 3750 Michael Blvd, Mobile, AL 36609 or Celeste Road Church, 16225 Celeste Road, Citronelle, AL 36522.
