Ruth Smith

Ruth Anderson Smith, a native of McLaurin, Mississippi, and a resident of Citronelle, Alabama. She was 101 years old. Ruth was the last of twelve children, having six sisters and five brothers. She was the oldest member of Bethel Baptist Church. In high school, Ruth played softball. After high school, Ruth became a welder during WWII at the Alabama Dry Docks and Shipbuilding Company (ADDSCO). She also served as Women's Chairman of ALFA. Those left to cherish her memory include her two children, Gertrude Alexander of Theodore, Alabama and Larry Smith of Bay Minette, Alabama; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces; other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the 12:00 PM funeral service on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Robinson officiating. Burial to follow in Bethel Cemetery.
