Samuel Edward Butler

Samuel Edward “Sam” Butler, 70, a resident of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Providence Hospital. Sam worked as a chemical plant operator before enjoying a long and healthy retirement. He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Citronelle and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Sam was loved by many and will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Fordyce Butler. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Michael Butler and Bill Butler; brother, Alan Butler (Brenda); and other relatives and many friends. A wake will be held for Sam from 6-9 pm Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held 10 am Monday, May 30, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church in Citronelle with Reverend Dr. Ron Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery in Citronelle.
