Samuel Newman, age 78, of Vinegar Bend, AL, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile, Ala. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Newman; Daughter-Diana Carter of Wilmer, AL Daughter-Charlotte (Greg) Poole of Vinegar Bend, AL Son-Lodel (Sharon) Newman of Vinegar Bend, Ala. Son-Eric Newman of Citronelle, Ala. Sister-Sara Odell Landrum of Vinegar Bend, Ala. Brother-Phil Newman and Charles T. Newman both of Vinegar Bend, AL and Brother Charles Newman of Lucedale,MS Twenty Three grandchildren Thirteen great-grandchildren One great-great-grandchild the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at Epworth Methodist Church at 2:00 PM Friday, May 22, 2009 , Rev.Curtis Smith officiating. Interment will be at Epworth Cemetery in Epworth, AL
