Sandy Ray Reed, a native and resident of McIntosh, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, March 27, 2020. He was 66 years old. Sandy was born December 09, 1953. He was a chemical operator for over 30 years until he retired. In his spare time, Sandy enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family, especially his wife and grandchildren. He loved to spoil his children and grandchildren. Sandy also loved the Lord and enjoyed singing at Rivers Baptist Church each week. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Sandy was preceded in death by his parents, Kelly and Ilene Reed; and siblings, Pat Reed, Kelly Carl Reed, Donna Faye Chaisson, Vince Reed, and Walter Reed. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 45 years, Verina Reed; children, Joseph Ray Reed, Sr. (Casey), Glen Reed (Terri), and Sandie Whiting (Curtis); twelve grandchildren, Adrienne, Joseph Jr., Joshua, Branon, Glen Jr., Cassidy, Zachary, Justin, Curtis Jr., Verina, Casey, and Prestyn “Little Man”; brother, Billy Reed; brother in law, David Chaisson; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Monday, March 30, 2020, at Rivers Baptist Church with Rev. Samuel Rivers, Rev. Nick Williams, and Rev. Wilbert Reed officiating.
