Scott R. “Gummy” Gibson, 51, a native of Mount Vernon, Alabama passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Springhill Memorial Hospital. Gummy worked as a truck driver for B & B Trucking. He was a member of the Pentalpha Lodge # 804 in Saraland, Alabama. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Gummy will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard “Gip” and Barbara Gibson; grandparents, Mildred Denton and Herman Johnston; and his wife, Brenda Gibson. Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Shannon (Anita) Gibson and Shane (Michelle) Gibson; two nephews, Bradley Gibson and Anthony Weaver; great nieces and nephews; special “lil” sister, Robin JoMil Washburn; special aunt, Robin Duff; and other relatives and friends. A wake will be held Monday, November 30, 2020 from 6-9pm at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11am on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev.
