Mr. Sherley Malone, 87, a native of Gulfcrest, AL and resident of Citronelle, AL died peacefully at his home on September 6, 2012. Mr. Malone served in the United States Army 71st Infantry and a World War II veteran. He was a farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Malone; son, Butch Malone; two daughters, Francis Morgan and Ann Blair; sister, Jeanette Cabaniss; brother, Herbert (Bernice) Malone; eight grandchildren, Wynette, Jan, Felice, Francine, Misty, Chanda, Christi and Cassandra; eighteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 8 am until the 10 am Funeral Service on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. David Tarvin and Rev. Stan Clayton officiating. Interment will be in Gulfcrest Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Willie Ray Miller, Bill Mitchell, Wayne Blount, Hilton Turner, Charles Turner, Tony Day and Donnie Hendry. Active pallbearers will be Nelson Booth, Jessie King, Jesse Malone, Bubba Boothe, Scott Boothe and Gary Jarvis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Gulfcrest Cemetery Fund.
