Sidney Fletcher Stagner

Sidney Fletcher Stagner, passed away at the Crowne Healthcare of Citronelle on June 17, 2023. He was a cherished husband, father and grandfather who will be mourned by many. 

Sid was born on February 4, 1941. He was a member of the National Guard in the 711 Signal Battalion for several years during which he was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis. His love for his country did not end there; he continued to serve as an upstanding citizen of the United States of America throughout his life.  Sid worked and retired from Exxon Mobil as an operator, working tirelessly to provide a wonderful life for his family.

Throughout his life, Sid had many beloved hobbies and interests such as fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. His impeccable character granted him membership into Masonic Lodge 637, which he proudly served.

Family meant everything to Sid. He is survived by his wife Ann Stagner whom he shared 63 wonderful years with. Furthermore, he is survived by his sons Barry L Stagner and Todd Stagner. As a proud grandfather, his surviving grandchildren include Brandon Stagner, Breelyn Armistead (Zakery), Payton Stagner (Cameron), Ty Stagner and great-grandchildren Jase Stagner and Thomas Archer Armistead.

A wake will be held for Sidney from 6pm until 8pm Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Living Word Church.  Funeral services will be held at Living Word Church on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 10am with Rev. Marcus Hobbs and Keith Brannan officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Sid will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will forever hold a special place in everyones' hearts who knew him. May his soul rest in peace.
