Starling D. Gazzier, a devoted commercial fisherman and beloved member of his community, passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on November 7, 1957, Starling dedicated most of his life to the sea, mastering the art of fishing and shrimping. He enjoyed every moment spent on the water, embracing both the tranquility it brought him and the thrill of the catch.
Starling was known for his kind spirit, infectious happiness, and great sense of humor. His personality made him a joy to be around, and he cultivated friendships that touched many lives. Outside of his work as a fisherman, he found pleasure in simple things: tending to his yard, enjoying western films, and staying informed by watching the news.
He is survived by his loving sister, Carla Gazzier (Lee Reed); his brother, Wilfred Gazzier (Linda); and his sister, Priscilla Goldmon. He leaves behind many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory dearly.
Starling was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy Gazzier, as well as his siblings, Jack Gazzier, Morris Gazzier, William Gazzier, and Darla Snow. Their memories will forever remain with those who loved him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the Visitation at Magnolia Holiness Church on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Bro. Ike Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Starling D. Gazzier will be remembered for his passion for life, his love for the water, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
