Sterling Weaver, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on August 10, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family, finding solace in their presence in his final moments. Born on January 23, 1949, Sterling lived a life enriched by his favorite hobbies and interests. He had a passion for taking vacations with his devoted wife, Lucy Weaver. Additionally, he found immense joy in watching football and wrestling, savoring the thrill of each match and game.

Sterling's proudest accomplishments centered around his family. He cherished moment spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Their laughter and love brought him unparalleled happiness, shaping his legacy as a devoted family man.

A man of creativity, Sterling will be remembered for his unique approach to life and the memories he created with those around him. His gentle spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Sterling will be dearly missed by his surviving family members, including his wife, Lucy Weaver; children, Deborah Byrd (Tex Jr.) and Bridgett Weaver (Josh); grandchildren, Travis Weaver (Destiny), Anna Weaver, Brittney Martin (Pedro), Nicholas Martin, Toni Byrd, Noah Weaver (Abby), Tex Byrd III, Leslie Calhoun (Tyler), William Calhoun, and Layla Byrd; great grandchildren, Jaiston, Jailiana, April, Little Sterling, Novaleigh, Levi, Maverick, Joseph, and Eden Jo; siblings, Birtlee Taylor (Gene), Barbara Byrd (Spencer), Sally Smith (Walter), Florence Campbell (Clint), Katherine Weaver, Chris Weaver (Lettie), and Fred Weaver; as well as special friends, Van Rivers and Crystal Peavy.

Sterling was preceded in death by his parents, Melton and Josephine Weaver; siblings, George Weaver, Willie Weaver, Darrell Weaver, and Rosemary Weaver; and mother and father in law, Ed and Bobbie Biggs. He now rests in peace, reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him.

A wake will be held on August 14, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home. The Mass of the Resurrection will take place on August 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Saint Theresa Catholic Church with Rev. Victor Ingalls as celebrant. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery.
