Theodore Lamar Vinson, a native of Anniston, Alabama and resident of Citronelle, Alabama passed away Friday, August 3, 2018. He was born on October 26,1932 to Jim Fair and Edna Alice Vinson. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, reading and watching television, especially Fox News and the Atlanta Braves. He taught Math and Shop at Calcedeaver and Citronelle High Schools. Also, Mr. Vinson was a Junior High track and football coach. After retirement as a transportation foreman at Ciba Geigy, he was known in the community for raising and selling catfish. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Marlene Vinson; children, Marie Burrows (Grahame), Thea Gonzalez (John), Kelley Lofton (Travis) and James Vinson (Meagan); fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10am until 11:30am at Memorial Baptist Church on Monday, August 6, 2018. A Graveside Service will follow immediately after the visitation at Pine Crest Cemetery with Bro. Justin Carter and Bro. Grahame Burrows officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the Citronelle Public Library in honor of Mr. Vinson.
