Theresa Hart Newburn

Theresa Hart Newburn, affectionately known to all as "Granny T," passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, at USA Health Providence Hospital. Born on June 28, 1943, Theresa was a beacon of joy and laughter in the lives of those who knew her. With a personality that was as vibrant as her favorite Alabama football team, Theresa possessed a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten the grayest of days. Her funny and bubbly nature endeared her to countless friends and family, and many will cherish the memories of enjoying margaritas with her girls, sharing laughter, and celebrating life's moments.

Theresa took immense pride in her family, and her children—Connie Green (Chris), Janice Walker, Rena Henderson (Eric), and Eric Newburn (Kari)—were the cornerstone of her existence. She held her grandchildren, David Allen Barreras (Chassity), Crystal Ann Barreras (Jacob Turner), Bruce Anthony Newburn, Erica Henderson (Calain Bolden), Theresa Lynn Greathouse, Robert Kendal Walker, Jesse Clyde Newburn (Christina Godown), Wyatt Henderson (Sara Robbins), and Brezlyn Newburn close to her heart, often speaking of them as the light of her life. Furthermore, she delighted in the chaos and happiness brought forth by her multitude of great-grandchildren.

Theresa is survived by her beloved brother, Burt Hart (Kathy), along with many other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness. She was predeceased by her husband, Kendal Newburn; her parents, Jesse and Myra Hart; and her siblings, Betty Council and Jesse Clyde Hart, Jr.

As we reflect on Theresa's life, we remember a woman whose laughter resonated through her family, who embraced every moment with love and humor, and whose legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.
