Thomas Leo Hennis, known affectionately as Leo to his loved ones and friends, passed away on May 16, 2024 at the Washington County Nursing Home. He was born on January 3, 1932. Throughout his life, Leo was recognized for his kind and welcoming personality, leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the pleasure of knowing.
Leo dedicated 33 years of his life to his career Ciba Giegy, where he made lasting connections and was admired for his hard work and dedication. However, beyond his professional achievements, Leo's proudest accomplishments lie in being a very sociable person who truly cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. Hennis and Lottie Davidson Hennis; his son, Thomas Wayne Hennis, his brother, Robert Hennis; and his sister, Dorothy Hennis Outerbridge.
His surviving family members including his son, Timothy O. Hennis (Raichelle); daughter, Tina Mull (Roy Cramer); his grandson, Jeremy Paul Hennis (Savanna); and his sister, Faye Hennis Perry (Rev. David) will always remember him with love and gratitude.
Leo touched the lives of many beyond just his family - he leaves behind a legacy cherished by numerous other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his warmth and kindness.
As we bid farewell to Leo, let us not dwell on the sadness of our loss but instead celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the memories he created. May he rest in peace knowing that he was truly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Four Points Cemetery.
