Tommie Eugene Blankinchip, 83, a native and resident of Citronelle, Alabama passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at his niece’s residence. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post # 164. He retired from the ABC Board and enjoyed woodworking being very talented in making fiddles and other furniture, reading, golf and hunting. Tommie was known for “shooting the bull” with his friends and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by parents, Tommie Eugene and Morie Blankinchip and wife, Christine Blankinchip. Left to cherish his memory is brother, Marvin (Daisy) Blankinchip; two sisters, Frances Byrd and Sandra (Mannie) Fossen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral service will begin promptly at 2pm on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Freeman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post # 164 in Tommie’s memory. Online condolences may be given at www.freemancitronelle.com.
