Tremell Lee Singleton, a beloved resident of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away on October 25, 2023, at the USA Health Providence Hospital. He was born on July 3, 1948, to Rufus Archie Singleton and Mary Lee Harvison Singleton. Tremell had a vibrant personality and was known for being outspoken, outgoing, witty, and facetious.
Tremell led a remarkable life and was honored to serve his country in the Army as part of the First Air Cavalry 7th Division during the Vietnam War. His dedication and commitment to his military service earned him the prestigious Purple Heart.
Outside of his military service, Tremell had various hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He loved nothing more than sipping coffee and watching football games, particularly those featuring his favorite teams - the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide and the New Orleans Saints. In his leisure time, he found solace in watching Western shows and was an avid reader of Louis L'Amour novels.
Tremell's proudest accomplishment in life was undoubtedly his adoration for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sue Dykes; children, Bo Singleton (Trina), Lyn Singleton, Michael Smith, Tonya Dykes, Crystal McDonald, and Veronica Chestang (Dallas). Tremell also leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren, Michael Singleton (Maggie), Zachary Singleton (Chloe), Ronald Dykes, Brandon Weaver, Corey Weaver, Tyler Thompson, and Michael Thompson; great-grandchildren, Zara Grace, Lillian Beau, and Grace; and siblings, Buddy (Sue), Skeeter (Peggy), Darrell (Alicia), and Tammy (Lil John).
In addition to his immediate family members, Tremell was also blessed with deep friendships. Wanda Singleton stood by his side as a loyal friend throughout his life.
Tremell was preceded in death by his daughter, Sabrina Singleton; parents, Archie "Biggin'" and Mary Lee Singleton; and his siblings, Barbara Mims (Lloyd), Berdean Hoover, Ellis Singleton, Henry Allen Singleton, Jerry Singleton, and Larry Singleton.
Services to celebrate Tremell's life will be held on October 30, 2023. Visitation will take place at Freeman Funeral Home from 10:00 until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Bro. Bob Young officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
Tremell Lee Singleton will forever be remembered for his vibrant personality, love for family and friends, and his unwavering dedication to serving his country. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
