Uda Vella "Boots" Glasscock

Uda Vella “Boots” Glasscock, 86, a longtime resident of Georgetown, Alabama and Citronelle, Alabama passed away peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2018. She was a homemaker and member of Bethel Baptist Church. Throughout her life, she was very dedicated to her Lord and her church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School leader and supporter of missions. “Boots” was a house mother at the Baptist Children’s Home and a dorm mother at the University of Mobile. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William “Merriam” Glasscock; and her son, Charles Richard Glasscock. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry Glasscock (Candy) and Gaye Clayton (Stan); six grandchildren, April, Tara, Jason, Nick, Cassie and Katie; fourteen great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until the 3pm funeral service on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Glasscock and Rev. Stan Clayton officiating.
