Vermell Weaver Byrd

Vermell Byrd, a resident of Sanktown, passed away Friday, May 06, 2022. She was 78 years old. Vermell was born July 07, 1943. She loved going to church, growing flowers, and most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kony and Simmie Weaver; son, Ben Byrd; granddaughter, Dana Byrd; grandson, Chester Lee Byrd; three sisters, Margie Weaver, Emma Johnston, and Inez Scarborough; and special friend, Terry Harrison.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Stanley Byrd (Sheila), Bobby Byrd (Kattie), and Taylor Byrd (Hanna); grandchildren, Leslie Goodman (Terry), Bobbie Mairena (Omar), Marley Snow (Lance), Travis Byrd, and Kelsey Norman (Todd); seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Johnny Weaver (Regina), Ralph Weaver (Sharon), and Pam Smart; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Home Gospel Church with Rev. Paul Chestang officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
