Wallace Joe Henderson, 68, a resident of Citronelle, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Joe proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from Alabama Power Company with 40 years of service. Joe was a reserve officer for the Citronelle Police Department and volunteered with the Citronelle Rescue Unit. Joe was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church. He enjoyed hunting in his spare time, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley Henderson and Martha Lorraine Gartman Henderson; and sister, Wanda McKinney. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Audrey A. Henderson; daughter, Nicole Boland (Brad); son, Corey Henderson (Tess); grandchildren, Addison and Brayden; siblings, Brantley Henderson, Jimmy Henderson (Virginia), Margaret Richardson (Rick), Rosemary Odle (Roger), George Henderson (Carolyn) and Ellen Cochran (Mark); other relatives and friends. A wake will be from 6-9pm Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 3pm Monday, November 18, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Henderson and Rev. Keith Brannan officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ken Achee, Tommy Terrel, Rob Brannan, Donnie Givens, Robert Howard and Charly Freeman.
