Walter Woodrow Maddox, a resident of Satsuma, Alabama, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at Springhill Medical Center. Woody, as he was affectionately known, was surrounded by his loving family when he left this earthly world to be with the Lord, at the age of 66. While his time on Earth was short, Woody left an impression on this world that will withstand generations to come. Aside from working as an oil field supervisor, Woody was known for his kindness, his generosity, and his sense of humor. Above all else, Woody will be remembered as a man of God, and a devoted brother, father, and grandfather, who put his faith and his family at the foundation of anything he did.
Though we will miss him dearly, we are glad that Woody has been reunited with his loving wife, Delores Ann “GiGi” Maddox; and his father, Charles Ray “Friday” Maddox.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Shantel Landrum and Christopher “Nick” Maddox (Saprina); grandchildren, Bella, Peighton, and Parker; mother, Mary Catherine Lambert; siblings, Kathy McDonald, Judy Sullivan, Kenny Maddox, Ralph Maddox, and Charles Maddox; a host of other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 9am until the 10am funeral service Monday, May 01, 2023, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Nordstrom, Rev. Dunford Cole, and Rev. George Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Byrd Cemetery.
You are encouraged to leave a message in the guestbook below to share your most precious memories, thoughts, and condolences for the family of Woody.
