Wanda Langston Busby

Wanda Langston Busby, a resident of Tibbie, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021. She was 78 years old. Wanda was born December 07, 1942, in Meridian, Mississippi. She was an EMT and Ambulance driver with Trans Med Ambulance Service and JETs Ambulance Service for 13 years and also retired from Washington County Board of Education as bus driver after 24 years of service. Wanda was well known for her cooking, which she enjoyed and shared with many. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles B Busby; mother, Velma Langston; father, W.J. Langston, Sr.; brothers, W.J. Langston, Jr., Wiley Langston, and Randy Langston; maternal grandmother, Nancy Shirley; maternal grandfather, John Shirley; paternal grandmother, Pearl Langston; and paternal grandfather, Wiley E. Langston.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Yvonne (Mike) Thornton, Angie (Robert) Gilley, Tammy (Charlie) Carpenter, Lynn (Jeff) Caldwell, Nancy White, and Kelly (Clint) Cornett; step-daughter, Terri (Terry) Flowers; step-son, John Kevin Busby; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren; sister, Linda Busby; brother, Wendell (Pat) Langston; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11am until the 12pm funeral service Friday, June 25, 2021, at Howardtown Baptist Church with Brother Tim Martin and Brother Jamie Lay officiating. Burial will follow in Howardtown Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Clint Cornett, Jeff Caldwell, Mike Thornton, Robert Gilley, Charlie Carpenter, Owen Busby, Leon Laton, and Jerry Coaker.
