William Dutch Byrd

William Dutch Byrd, a resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017. He was 57 years old. Dutch worked as a supervisor at Mobile County Road and Bridge for many years before retiring. Dutch was an avid golfer. He loved his family and will be truly missed by all who knew him. Dutch was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sarah Douglas; and daughter, Amberleigh Morgan Carpenter-Byrd. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sylvia Byrd; children, Stephanie Cain (Bebo), Chasity Smith (Stephen), Colton Byrd (Lacey), and Drake Byrd (Hallie); step children, Chase Weaver, Derek Weaver (Trisha), and Morgan Weaver (Kevin); seventeen grandchildren; siblings, Ricky Douglas (Vernell) and Tad Douglas (Kim). A wake will be held for Dutch from 6pm until 9pm Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at Hickory Grove Holiness Church. The funeral will be held 11am Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Hickory Grove Holiness Church with Rev. Clyde Byrd Jr. and Travis Evans officiating.
