William Edward "Billy" Hightower, age 61, a native of Mobile and resident of Citronelle, died Saturday, June 19, 2010. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He retired as a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and visiting the Iron Skillet. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Paulette Hightower of Citronelle; two sons, William Travis (Brenda N.) Hightower of Hurley, MS and Timothy Bruce (Shelly) Spence of Rocklin, CA; two daughters, Ginger Lynn (Charles E. Cox) Hightower and Charlie Lebaron (Christina Tyre) Flurry, and son-in law, Kevin Flurry, all of Mobile, AL; thirteen grandchildren, Nastasha Spence Kennedy, Natalia Spence Kennedy, Troy Spence, Samantha Spence, Dylan Spence, Tiffany Hightower, Brooke Hightower, Summer Hightower, Johnny Cumbest, Kasey Krecker, Greysen Cox, Hailey Flurry and Gavin Flurry; two great grandchildren, Ethan Cumbest and Braxton Krecker; two special sisters, Ruby Rivais and Beth Johnson; faithful companions, Fuzzy & Peanut. A wake will be held from from 6 PM to 9 PM with Rosary being recited at 5:45 PM on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Freeman Funeral Home in Citronelle. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church beginning at 10 AM on Thursday, June 24, 2010 with Rev. John Coghlan as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery - Citronelle.
