William Perry “Bill” Griffin, a resident of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019. He was 80 years old. Bill was born in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late Otis and Lorena Griffin on November 13, 1938. He served his country in the United States Air Force and worked as a manager for Motorola for 27 years. Bill then owned Global Radio for 5 years. After that, Bill finished his career at Hurricane Electronics. Bill served as Magistrate for the City of Citronelle, on the Citronelle City Council, Chairman of South Alabama Utilities Board of Directors, President of Mobile County Municipalities, and the Citronelle Planning Commission for many years. He also was a member of Citronelle Lodge 637 F.&A.M. where he served in the chairs including Worshipful Master. Bill was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 60 years, Regina Griffin; children, Patty Johnston (Richard), Esther Sowell (Tim), Rosie Merritt (Rick), and Charles Griffin (Eva); grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Chelsea, David, Jennifer, Tiffany, Matthew, Jessica, Brandon, Chase, Connor and Nick; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Kara Stewart; and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, July 1, 2019 from 11am until the 12pm Funeral service at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Marc Hobbs and Rev. Stan Clayton officiating.
