Wylie Monroe Reed, 71, a native and resident of McIntosh, Alabama passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at USA Medical Center. He attended Bacone University, Muskogee, Oklahoma where he met the love of his life, Christine Buckner Reed, to whom he was married for over 46 years. He owned and operated Hawkeye Pipe and Supply and Fabsco. He enjoyed traveling worldwide with his wife and golfing in his spare time. Later in life, Wylie kept an immaculate yard and spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Christopher. Wylie was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Buckner Reed; parents, William and Daisy Reed; siblings, Daisy Jane Reed Snow and her husband, A.J. Snow, Mavis Worrell and her husband, Cecil Worrell, Lawrence Ezra Reed, James Andrew Reed, and Verma Vernell Reed; father-in-law, Harvey Buckner; sister-in-law, Nancy Ann Egger. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Keith Monroe Reed and his wife, Stephanie, and Angela-Leigh Reed Easton; grandchildren, Christopher Wy-Lee Reed and his fiancée, Whitney Michelle Williams, Jacob Keith Reed, Ilyssa-Leigh Easton, Stephen Jarad Reed, Brent Carson Allen Easton and Logan Keith Reed; mother-in-law, Emmer Mae Buckner; sister-in-laws, Arlen Reed, Virginia Reed, Reva Lee Reed, Mary Ann Hicks, and Connie Buckner; brother-in-law, Andrew Buckner; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 11am until the 12pm funeral service on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Christopher Franklin Reed and Rev. Eric Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Reed’s Chapel Cemetery. The family would like to give a special “thank you” to Cheryl Reed Rivers and Phyllis Reed Nelson for the special care and love given to Wylie, especially in the past few years.
