Yvonne Casler, a resident of Citronelle, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She was 68 years old. Yvonne was gifted with the truest of servant's heart and provided her family and community with abundant grace. There was never a time you walked in her house, her church, or her store that it didn't feel like home. If you were a regular, she remembers your favorites. Even if you were just passing through, she left you with her love, care, and concern. Yvonne managed Deese's Korner Variety and recently retired after 34 years of service. She was an active member of Community Christian Fellowship Church in Deer Park, Alabama, and served as the choir director.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Odell Cochran, Sr.; her mother, Jacobina ''Jackie'' Landrum Cochran; her brothers, Ronnie Cochran and Kent Cochran; and her nephew, Douglas Lee Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 44 years, Jim Casler; son, Jimmy Casler (Delana); grandchildren, Aubrey, Jackson, Emory, Jackson, Aliyah, Jonathan; siblings, Danny Cochran (Diane), Sheila Smith (Donnie), Douglas Cochran, Jr. (Stephanie), and Rita White (Terry); an abundance of nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who she loved like family.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the 11 AM funeral service Monday, March 21, 2022, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Barton Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Deer Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Sean Smith, Lonnie Smith, Chad White, Tony Cochran, Matthew Cochran, and Jordan Smith.
